Dr. Jonathan E. Chan
Dr. Jonathan. E. Chan is a Urologic Surgeon in Toronto, Canada. He is the Co-founder and Medical Director of ATRIUM Surgical Centre Prostate and Men’s Health Programs. He is known for his subspecialty expertise in the minimally invasive diagnostics and treatment of prostate disease, prostate cancer, and men’s sexual health.
Dr. Chan is a Lecturer and Surgeon Teacher at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto and currently Master’s of Health Care Innovation (candidate 2027) at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. He completed his Urology Residency at the University of Toronto with a subspecialty fellowship in Robotics and Minimally Invasive Surgery at L'Institut Mutualiste Montsouris in Paris, France. He was designated a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2008.
His areas of interest include:
- Minimally invasive surgical treatments for enlarged prostate (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia) to include REZUM™ Water Vapour Therapy, Greenlight™ Laser Therapy, and Optilume® for BPH. He was awarded global Centre of Excellence for all Boston Scientific Corporation BPH surgical technologies. He has performed over 1000 REZUM cases representing the highest single surgeon experience in the world.
- Focal therapy for prostate cancer to include Nanoknife (IRE) System. He is a designated clinical training site for the manufacturer, Angiodynamics, and records among the highest single-surgeon case volumes globally.
- Prostate cancer treatment to include Nanoknife focal therapy, surgery, and multi-disciplinary treatment with Radiation and Medical Oncology. Management of advanced prostate cancer with onsite injection nursing, genetic counseling, and Lifelabs laboratory services.
- Prostate cancer diagnostics to include Transperineal MRI-fusion targeted prostate biopsy, biomarker, and genomic testing.
- Men’s sexual health to include PhalloFILL® Penile Girth Enhancement and cosmetic Urology, Storz DUOLITH® Shockwave Therapy for Erectile Dysfunction, hormone optimization, and male infertility.
- Minimally-invasive laser and “keyhole” laparoscopic surgery for urinary tract stone disease and kidney cancer.
